Order Skinwalkers

More road trips lately and since discovering Lt. Joe LeapHorn and Officer Jim Chee of the Navajo Tribal Police, I've listened to very little music while driving. I recently picked up Tony Hillerman's Skinwalkers.

Read by its author, Skinwalkers tells the story of Lt. Joe LeapHorn and Officer Jim Chee of the Navajo Tribal Police as they investigate a series of murders. In each of the murders, a small bead of bone is found in the wound, the sign of a skinwalker, a witch.

Someone has also taken a shot at Jim Chee. And mixed in with the shotgun pellets used in the attack is a small bead of bone. Is Jim Chee a Navaho witch?

As with the previous two books I've listened to, Hillerman does an excellent job of intermixing his story with facts about the Navajo culture. I think that aspect of the books is part of why I enjoy his work so much.

It took a little over three hours and about a hundred and fifty miles of Missouri small highways to listen to the two cassettes that make up this audio book.

As with his previous books, I enjoyed this one very much and plan on listening to more in the future. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery.
